Celester Gonh

Celester Gonh is an adjunct lecturer at the London School of Business and Finance, where he teaches English as a Foreign Language to international students. He is also an active facilitator in outdoor camps, including WOW Kampung.

Celester is deeply passionate about underprivileged children and families. It is this same passion that led him to join Cahaya, where - despite being newer to the team - he has contributed so much to the socio-emotional learning and positive youth development across our weekly sessions. He firmly believes that learning should be engaging and go beyond the classroom, so he is actively looking into activities that front meaningful experiential learning. These make him our ideal Character Development Head!

Celester is also an advocate and a lover of the environment. He maintains an urban garden and often gifts little pots of green goodness to others. To him, such acts are small but necessary to fight against climate change, refresh one’s mental wellness and remind us all that even little things can leaf great memories.

He would love to get to know others who share the same passions - of improving the lives of children and families while caring for the environment - over a calming pot of hot tea and soothing reggae music.

We at Cahaya Community are still wondering how he got that cool hair-do - the leading theory being he was once a part of a band, but we are still roaming, searching, tracking (for) a sign. On an unrelated note, check out our new favorite song!
