Laura Goh

Laura is a first-year undergraduate at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and is passionate about children and families. Laura’s first community project was Project Colours, where she helped clean and paint rental flats in the Redhill estate. During her 7 years with Red Cross, Laura took part in outreach programmes and served as a first aider at local events, with her most memorable experience as a Padang First aider. She treasures every interaction she has had, and believes that trust and mutual understanding are the building blocks to any relationship.

As a part of the Cahaya community, Laura has been seen to cover a range of roles. From being a piggyback monster, a horrendous soccer player (hitting down cones as she goes), to being a friend and a role model, Laura shows love for children through small intangible actions, and strives to make every experience with them an enjoyable and memorable one. Through the dedication of her time and energy, she fosters and encourages the growth of social skills with the hopes that each and every one of them can maximise the boundless potential that they have.

During Laura’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her grandmother and surprising her with spicy food. She also has a unique talent of not getting caught while eating or sleeping during lectures, and burns anything that she puts in the oven.
